What is PersonalMapping?
PersonalMapping is your own behavioural style represented as a full colour, stunningly detailed map, with all the features – cities, rivers, mountains and seas – shown as your characteristics and personality traits. Based on a simple set of questions that respondents answer, our system creates a remarkably accurate profile of not only your behavioural style, but also any challenges that may impede teams from collaborating more effectively. It focuses on perceptions, empathy and understanding. Respondents will get to know and understand themselves and others much better as, with Personal Mapping you literally put yourself in someone else’s shoes.
Why a MAP
A map creates an instant view of ‘the landscape of behaviour’. It is much easier to recall the key behavioural elements rather that reading a weighty report which often ends up, unread in a drawer. The maps developed by MapsTell called the World of Difference showcase different behavioural preferences in a clear and accessible manner.
What is Personal Mapping based on?
The products of MapsTell are based on the DISC Personality System developed by William Marston. The model distinguishes 16 different behavioural styles grouped into four main areas: Decisive, Influential, Stable and Conscientious. These four main areas (and the underlying 16 behavioural styles) together form the World of Difference (WoD) which is created using associated cartography.
The World of Difference (WoD) APPLICATION
The WoD could work well with both individual development or team development, including executive coaching, team coaching, corporate training, team building workshop and so on.
In coaching and training, the World of Difference is used as a floormat, where participants can literally travel over their PersonalMap. The map invites you to discover more about your own behaviour and then, literally, cross the border into some else’s world and view life through their eyes. By using this visual tool, participants gain insight into both their own and other people’s behaviour in an accessible and particularly engaging way.
Upon the completion of a quick questionnaire, you will receive your own PersonalMap. On your Personal Map you will see the following 4 areas:
1. The Landscape of your Behaviour
2. Your Challenges
3. How do you see yourself?

What is Team Mapping™?
TeamMapping takes the innovative PersonalMapping tool, develops it for business, and analyses different behavioural styles within a group.
A TeamMap
A TeamMap shows at a glance the make-up of a group or department, and the different behavioural styles exhibited by the team members. In this way, a TeamMap offers immediate and deep insights into why one team works well, with internal harmony, and why other groups or departments fail to function as smoothly. TeamMapping takes the innovative Personal Mapping tool, develops it for business, and analyses different behavioural styles within a group. Each member of the team answers the questionnaire to create their PersonalMap, to find their place in the World of Difference based on their individual behavioural styles. This is then used to create a TeamMap, allowing everyone – especially Team Leaders – to see how they fit in with the others. This leads to mutual understanding, a better group dynamic and therefore better cooperation!
